Kia Soul & Hamsters

You’ve probably seen the Kia Soul commercials and wonder what in the heck is the name of that song. Land of Punt wonder that too and so they scoured the internet to find out.

L.O.P. learned that the creative agency behind the spot, David&Goliath, made five different variants of the ad, each with a different song.

If you work at a mall and don't remember Nirvana, you are eligible to drive a Kia Soul.

If you work at a mall and don't remember the rock band Nirvana, you are eligible to drive a Kia Soul.

“This car is all about being fresh and different. So we took the opportunity to try something equally innovative with the music. Finishing the commercial with a bunch of different tracks reinforces the idea and importance of being unique,” said Colin Jeffery, the agency’s executive creative director.

[Land of Punt rolls eyes over Jeffery's arrogant claim.]

Our diligent research has revealed the titles and artists of five songs:

“Do What You Do” by Marz featuring Pack and Mumiez.
“Fort Knox” by GoldFish
“Junkyard” by Potbelleez
“Bounce” by MSTRKRFT
“Colours” by Calvin Harris

Of course is you like the Kia Soul, you probably know the songs’ names. If you don’t like the Kia Soul, than you aren’t watching the commercials anyway. The only people who actually buy the Kia Soul are teenagers attending community colleges and twenty-somethings with G.E.D’s.

Regardless of your affinity towards the vehicle and the music, the hamsters tapping and swaying to the music is very cute. If infectious grooves offend you, just turn down the music.
